This blog post is about when we visited our friends Philip, Lena, Mila, Philine, Julian, and Emmi in Bern.  We flew on a plane to Switzerland and when we got there we drove to Bern to see our old friends. File_000

They used to live in Germany, then in St. Louis where I met them at my circus class.  Now they live in Switzerland so we got to visit them on our big trip.  When we got to their house we started playing immediately.  When it was time for dinner, we had this amazing rhubarb cake.  (not pictured)img_6493

In the morning we took the bus to the rose garden and I found out that kids can go anywhere by themselves in Switzerland.  Anyway we went to a little pond that had these weird little swimming lizards that live in the water.  They had red bellies and they were about 2″ long.  There were also tadpoles.DSC03389

Mila and Philine took us to this tiny little forest where all the roots were sticking up. DSC03394

Next we went to an amazing playground, most of it was made out of wood and rope.  DSC03397

We took a bunch of pictures in front of the nice scenery that was the city.img_6376DSC03403

Then we walked down a huge hill and we were surprised to find bears at the bottom, real brown bears!DSC03423

We were hungry for ice cream, so we walked through the old town part of Bern and found an ice cream shop next to the big clock.File_004File_002

We got on a train to get back home.Unknown

We took their dog Momo for a walk through a beautiful meadow and went past a farm with a lot of horses.  Even though our friends live in the city, there are farm animals all around.  We got to go really far from their house by ourselves.  There was a pony that touched noses with Momo.DSC03491.JPGDSC03427

When we got back from our walk all the neighbor kids greeted us, but I couldn’t understand them because they speak German.  Mila and Philine translated for us.  We took a lot of pictures (with my camera) which I will show you.  Most were taken in a wheat field because it was so pretty.  I loved this visit and I hope to come back!DSC03431DSC03434DSC03437DSC03438DSC03444DSC03448DSC03456DSC03458
