Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is an incredible sight to behold. Sure, there’s the over commercialization of the region surrounding the falls, but the falls themselves are breathtaking!

We opted for a “Maid of the Mist” boat tour, despite temperatures hovering just above freezing.

And if it weren’t so spectacular, you’d likely feel kind of miserable out there in the wind and “mist.”

As we approached the Canadian Horsehoe Falls, we were all tossed around a bit by the waves and the wind.  To be surrounded on three sides by 41 Million gallons of water per minute cascading over a 188 foot drop is an incredible experience, one that leaves you in awe of its power and beauty.Georgia felt like she’d survived a harrowing trip to the falls and when Brent asked what she thought of the boat ride, she took a deep breath in, exhaled, looked at him out of the corner of her eye and said, “Epic!”

The view from Canada was dramatically better (I wasn’t aware of this well known fact).  Once we crossed the border, the sun began to shine, so we got to see the rainbow in the mist.

Everything about Canada was beautiful, even their seagulls had charming personalities and the sea of daffodils was stunning.

From Niagara Falls, we drove straight to Ann Arbor, MI for a three day visit with family.  We opted to greet Rick and Susan dressed in our blue rain ponchos.  It seemed like we ought to get more use out of them and besides, they’re just SO flattering!
